For a bigger job we will often split it — the noisy, disruptive work overnight or on a Sunday, then quieter tasks like fitting switches and testing during the day. The goal is always the same: your shop, cafe or office is back open and trading as normal the next business day, with nothing left half-connected. For jobs spanning multiple nights we agree a schedule with you in advance so your staff know what to expect each morning.

Every job comes with a Certificate of Electrical Safety, plus any test records your lease, insurer or landlord asks for — a lot of commercial leases require this before you can fit out or hand back a tenancy. We keep digital copies on file, so if you misplace a certificate down the track, or a new landlord's property manager wants proof of a specific job, we can reissue it without you chasing down the original. For larger fit-outs we can also provide a full set of test records for the whole installation, which makes life easier at lease renewal or if you ever sell the business.

Yes — most fit-outs need both, and it is genuinely easier to have one trade run power and data together rather than coordinating two separate contractors who each blame the other if something does not line up. We run Cat6 or Cat6A cabling alongside the power circuits, terminate it into a proper patch panel, and test and certify every run before we hand over. If you already have an IT provider, we are used to working alongside them — we handle the cabling and infrastructure and leave the network configuration to your IT team.

We do both, but we get the best result when we are involved from early in the fit-out rather than brought in at the last minute. On a shell fit-out we work from the building's services and your shop or office plans to position power, data, lighting and any three-phase equipment circuits before walls and ceilings go in, then come back for the fit-off once the space is lined and the shopfitters and other trades are through. If you are inheriting an existing tenancy with electrical already in place, we inspect what is there first and tell you honestly what can stay and what needs upgrading, rather than assuming everything needs to be redone.

Yes — it is one of the more overlooked compliance items in a commercial tenancy. Emergency and exit lighting has to be tested regularly and kept in working order, and it is usually the landlord's or tenant's responsibility depending on your lease, so it is worth checking which applies to you. We install compliant emergency and exit lighting as part of a fit-out, and we can also test and service an existing system and provide the test certificate your fire safety schedule or essential safety measures report needs.

In most cases yes, though it depends on the layout of your existing board and how much of the site runs off it. Where possible we isolate and work on sections at a time, or schedule the changeover itself — the part that actually needs the power off — for early morning, after hours or a quiet trading period, and do the preparation work beforehand with the power still on. For a straightforward swap the actual outage is often a couple of hours rather than a full day. We will walk you through exactly what needs the power off and for how long as part of the quote, so you can plan around it.
